UVC Light
UVC light, a type of ultraviolet light, is a powerful tool for air purification. Operating at a wavelength of approximately 254 nanometers, UVC light is known for its germicidal properties. It disrupts the DNA and RNA of microorganisms, rendering them inactive and preventing their reproduction.
UVC Light is already used extensively overseas for air purification. ASHRAE Standard 241, introduced in 2023, sets new guidelines for reducing disease transmission through exposure to infectious aerosols in buildings. This standard is likely to be adopted in New Zealand soon, and at AirTech, we’re ready to help you comply.
